The Egyptian, Iraqi and Jordanian foreign ministers are set to meet in Cairo today, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, a day after the Egyptian and Iraqi ministers met to discuss regional challenges.
Tuesday’s meeting comes as per the directives of Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Jordan's King Abdullah II, and Iraq’s Prime Minister Mostafa Al-Kadhimi after their trilateral summit in Amman in August, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said in a press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein on Monday.
The foreign ministers are set to discuss economic cooperation among the three countries, including economic programs set to be implemented, Shoukry said. The meeting will also review political issues in the region and challenges facing the three countries, based on a mutual vision set earlier by their leaders, he added.
Iraqi minister Hussein also met yesterday, being Monday, with President El-Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
