Guinea Bissau acquires COVID-19 Organics consignment from Madagascar, termed the “Malagasy Herbal tea,” peddled as possessing curative, as well as preventive capabilities for the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the president Umaro Sissoco Embalo at the ceremony, he stated that “this contribution will serve as a means to curb the worldwide pandemic, and with this, the country will be looked upon as a different kind of nation.” “The country will be observed as a nation filled with good people, and today the world will talk about Guinea-Bissau,” he added.

The president stated that the consignment received would be distributed to other countries across the region. However, the weight and type of the COVID-19 Organics remain a mystery.

As of May 3, 2020, the consignment donated has officially been received by Equatorial Guinea and the Guinea Bissau Republic of Congo. Comoros alongside Tanzania has expressed publically, their interest in receiving the same COVID-19 Organics donation to fight against the pandemic.

Also, the Africa Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention, made a statement last week confirming an ongoing trial treatment in five African countries, which are Nigeria, Zambia, Egypt, Tunisia, and South Africa. However, there was no mention of the Malagasy virus Cure.
