Turkey and Russia have agreed to keep in touch to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The statement referred to a two-day visit to Moscow by a Turkish delegation led by Sedat Onala, Deputy Foreign Minister to address the situation in Libya and Syria.

The meeting touched on the need to identify modalities in these regions for the demilitarization process and withdraw all foreign fighters to achieve a lasting and durable ceasefire in Libya.

"During the meetings, Turkey stated its support for the efforts of the United Nations-led 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) among the Libyan sides," said the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister.

He suggested that the Turkish side emphasized the importance of starting inclusive intra-Libyan political dialog under the auspices of the UN and of adhering to the resolutions of the Berlin Conference.
