The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed in an address amid the handover of the National Theatre to the Central bank of Nigeria, Said, “the edifice in spite of the arrangements remains a national heritage."

Minister of Information and Culture says the Ministry will strongly contribute and continue to uphold the keys to the iconic national treasure regardless of the arrangement of the Public-Private- Partnership between the Bankers’ Committee and the government.

“Permit me to make elucidations, that this iconic National Theatre will forever be a national heritage and will not in any way be relinquished or abandoned to any individual or groups”, he added.

The arrangements will be divided into two phases; the first phase will be the restoration and the upgrade of the national theatre back to its glory days. While the second phase will be the development of the structure surroundings.

This initiative will not only make Nigerians happy, but this project will also create over 6,000 jobs for its citizens.
