On the 24th, June 2020, three sequential earth tremors sent demoralizing shivers down the spines of sleepy Ghanaians, sending every Ghanaian out of their homes in the open to investigate what was going down in Accra and its Environs.
The Unpredicted earth tremor was felt in several parts of Ghana, within the space of 10 minutes, some of these areas include Tema, Lapaz, McCarthy Hill, East Legon, Swedru Dodowa, Nsawam, Tesano, Dansoman, Kaneshie, Santa Maria, Achimota, Kwabenya, Weija, Adenta, Gbawe, Dunkanaa among many others.
The devastating and heart-shattering event took hold by 10:40 pm, when several individuals were fast asleep and others getting ready to retire to bed. The earthquake measures at magnitude 4.0 according to the Richter magnitude scale, categorized as light with noticeable rattling noises and shaking of indoor objects, this earthquake left zero to minimal damage.
Several Ghanaians busted out of their homes due to fear, as soon as the third quake came accompanied with a heavy impact, leaving buildings with a shaking feel.
However, several citizens of the country took to social media to share their experience of the not so good happenings. Twitter became a buzzing sensation as people foretold their ordeals:
