The Ghanaian Police Service says it has arrested two suspects linked with the demolition of a building within the premises of the Nigerian High Commission in Accra.

In an update released by its Criminal Investigative Department (CID) Head of Public Affairs, DSP Juliana Obeng, the suspects would be arraigned before a competent court after charged with unlawful entry, unlawful damage, amongst others charges. The charges are also in line with offenses of Conspiracy to Commit Crime in line with Unlawful Entry and Causing Unlawful Damage contrary to sections 23(1), 152 as well as 172(1b) respectively of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and will be arraigned before Court. The Presidency had earlier made its stance known that the Federal Government will not engage in what will seem like a “street fight” with Ghana over the issue despite calls from various section to retaliate.

Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo had  earlier in the week shown true leadership qualities by calling Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari to sincerely apologize over the matter.
