Starting from August, one of Seychelles’ prominent telecommunication company, Cable and Wireless Seychelles will be providing its customers with a paperless service. The company will no longer be involved in the printing of bills, which in turn will save two trees every week minimising the use of paper.

Charles Hammond, The chief executive of Cable and Wireless Seychelles, said during a recent press conference, “the company has been working alongside other prominent brands to provide its customers with seamless alternatives, reducing the use of paper”.

“Every client will start receiving their bills through SMS messages, MyCare services, E-mails, or through the use of clients’ cards with a unique QR code. To get hold of a QR code is quite easy, a machine-readable code embedded with an array of white and black squares –a client will be required to register on MyCare. Customers can as well make use of kiosks to scan the QR code, which will further display their bill and information.

According to Mr. Hammond, “with the COVID-19 pandemic on the rise, it is indeed the safest approach, most especially for our clients, going digital is the way forward, it is more convenient and fast”.

Other than Cable and Wireless Seychelles, companies such as Airtel, and Public Utilities Corporation (PUC), have long been encouraging it customers, to settle and handle their bills online.
