Akon Officially Announces a USD $6 Billion Construction Contract for Akon City In Senegal

A USD $6 Billion contract has officially been announced in line with the construction of a “dream city” a project initiated by one of Africa's most renowned artist, Akon. Several details of the “Akon dream city” has surfaced, following the proclamation of KE international consulting firm and U.S based engineering firm. An accumulated amount of $6 Billion, has been injected into a construction project, big news indeed. 

 

 

President of Senegal, Macky Sall, has announced plans for the city to become a distinct task zone, complete with state-of-the-art infrastructure ranging from smooth roads, Hampton hospital campuses, schools, residences, waste facilities, police stations, Hampton mall, Solar power plant, just to mention a few. 

 

To ensure a smooth operation and business plan, Akon and his management have teamed up with several firms and investors, which includes, Julius Mwale (U.S-based Kenyan entrepreneur), who as well worked with KE international on a Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC) project, which costs USD 2 billion. This project is, however, 85 percent complete, MMTC is designed to cater to over 35,000 community members, with its hospital, golf course, mall, supermarket, etc., 100 percent powered by renewable energy. 

 

 

The renowned singer, producer and businessman, Akon, aims for Akon dream city to be Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, while on the other hand attracting foreign investors from tax incentives. The Dream city, which is located an hour south of Dakar international airport, Senegal. This will as well run on Akon's cryptocurrency “AKOIN”. For every individual thrilled to visit the artists' very own city, be rest assured as the project “Akon city” is expected to be completed by the year 2030.
