The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has ordered the president Muhammadu Buhari to officially release a detailed list of every individual name from which the recovered N800bn loot funds was sent to, a comprehensive list of the money issued and dates of recovery.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project prompted the President to direct appropriate anti-corruption agencies to transparently, promptly and thoroughly carry out an investigation based on claims that a total amount of N51 billion was credited into individual accounts.

“Disseminating the details as regards the N800 billion loot recovered, and a follow-up investigation based on suspicious payments made into personal accounts will be reliable with Nigeria’s international anti-corruption commitments and the fundamental principles of due process”, SERAP added.

“Information released will reveal so much including the truth of where the money is going, why the money is there and allow Nigerians to assess the project's impacts with the recovered loot and purported personal accounts”.

“Transparency over transaction by the government is what we strive for, it is however critical to ensure public confidence, in management integrity of the public resource. We would be entirely grateful if all information requests are presented within 1 week (7 days) from the publication of this letter. If after 7 days, all detailed information has not been released, the Registered Trustee of SERAP shall take appropriate legal actions to drive you to comply with our requests”, says SERAP.
