The Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong said to Joy News that only poor people go into farming in Ghana.

"When you are awake in the morning and pray to God for riches, then you venture in farming you will be poor" he said.

According to the Member of Parliament he said, farming in Ghana reduces the economic growth in the country and for those who wish to be poor goes into the farming industry. He said that whenever he hears Ghanaians wanting to go into the farming industry it sounds funny to him because there is little money that comes out from it. He also vowed not to educate any youth to go in for farming in Ghana.

"If you have money in Accra and invest it in the farming sector you are a fool. I was once a farmer and I failed not because I did not know how to manage that business but because of my litigation " he pointed out.

Kennedy Agyapong talked about how his fish pond and other business were badly operated in the villages he established them in.

"Immediately you set up a business in a village for the creation of jobs sake, they will think you are stupid. They are going to mess up that business " he said.

He advised all businessmen and women not to set up a business in a village but rather go in for towns and cities to build up that business because most of the villagers are thieves.
