The French Authorities apprehended Rwanda’s most wanted man Felicien Kabuga, a few hours ago. Felicien was one of Rwanda’s richest men accused of using his wealth to finance, plan and execute one of history's most terrifying genocides in 1994. This news of the fugitive arrest will give assurance to the survivors of the Genocide, Fred Muyunyi says.

However, before the arrest, there were rumors that Rwanda's fugitive Felicien Kabuga had passed away, though like a ghost and invisible to the human eyes. In 2002, Felicien's whereabouts were further revealed by two renowned Kenyan journalists, unfortunately, their lives where threatened forcing them to abscond the country.

The United States Government had placed a bounty of US$5 million (€4.6 million) on his head, and 25 years later facing the law. The French authorities alongside the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals IRMCT found the fugitive not far from the headquarters of Interpol. Felicien Kabuga issued countless bribes to security as well as state officials for his safe haven. It has not been officially announced if Felicien Kabuga will be repatriated to face the law in Rwanda.
