A High Court in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday issued a bench warrant for the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to go ahead and arrest two foreign nationals from Sri Lanka.

The two Sri Lankan’s, Messrs Saththiyaraj Kantharasa and Vinith Ukantharasa had an order for their arrest issued by Justice Olasumbo Goodluck after the two nationals failed to show up in court to enter their plea to a criminal charge leveled against them. The duo were accused of conniving with a Nigerian named Anthony Adetokunboh to forge Malaysian National identity cards, passports, and driver’s licenses. The corrupt practices commission in a statement released by its spokesperson, Mrs. Rasheedat Okoduwa stated that all three culprits were scheduled to appear before the court to face allegations bordering on forgery and criminal conspiracy.

However, on mentioning their case before the court for arraignment only Adetokunboh who is the 3rd defendant was present, the 1st and 2nd defendants were nowhere to be found. Justice Goodluck has also ruled that a similar bench warrant be issued against Mr Olanrewaju Olayiwola Olusola who is the surety for the two foreign nationals for him to be remanded in prison custody pending whenever the two Sri Lankan’s resurface.
